MAINE — Two women are facing charges following a short police chase and drug seizure early Tuesday morning in Bridgton.

According to the Bridgton Police Department, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle just after midnight after noticing it had a handwritten license plate.

The driver did not immediately stop, continuing for nearly a mile before pulling over on Willis Park Road.

During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered approximately 4 grams of fentanyl, 15.5 grams of methamphetamine, 14 grams of cocaine, as well as drug paraphernalia, cash, and other items consistent with drug trafficking.

The driver, identified as 35-year-old Naiomi Viereck, was charged with multiple counts of drug trafficking, refusing to submit to arrest, and providing a false name.

A passenger, 44-year-old Linda Pepin, was arrested on an active failure-to-appear warrant.

Both women were taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
