Snacks sold in Ohio recalled due to health risk

OHIO — Several popular snacks sold in Ohio have been recalled due to the risk of causing serious or life-threatening allergic reactions in certain consumers.

Cal Yee Farm LLC issued the recall for multiple products after discovering potential undeclared allergens, including milk, soy, wheat, sesame, FD&C #6, and almonds.

According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), these allergens pose a significant risk to individuals with severe allergies or sensitivities.

The recalled items include:

  • Tropical Trail Mix
  • Butter Toffee Almonds (sold under Cal Yee’s or Boa Vista Orchards brands)
  • Mango with Chili
  • Hot Cajun Sesame Sticks
  • New Orleans Hot Mix
  • Fruit Basket 2909 and 2921
  • Various chocolate and yogurt-covered products (e.g., dark chocolate walnuts, raisins, almonds, yogurt-coated almonds, and dark chocolate apricots under Cal Yee’s or Cal Yee Farm brands).

These products were distributed in several states, including Ohio, California, Arizona, Virginia, New Mexico, Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, and Pennsylvania.

Consumers are advised to discard the products or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall as of this time.
