OHIO — A federal grand jury has indicted a Dayton man on charges related to a string of 12 armed robberies committed last month across southwest Ohio.
Timothy Farr, 43, was initially arrested in December 2024 after being charged with eight of the robberies through a criminal complaint. The newly filed 24-count indictment expands the case against him.
Farr faces 12 counts of interfering with commerce by threats or violence, each carrying a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
He also faces 12 counts of using a firearm during a crime of violence, which could result in at least seven years and up to life in prison.
According to the indictment, Farr allegedly brandished a firearm at gas stations, convenience stores, and drive-thru stores, demanding cash and cigarettes.
He reportedly wore dark clothing, gray two-tone gloves, and a black balaclava mask covering part of his face. In some instances, he also wore an N-95 style mask.

- Dec. 6 – Ray’s Xenia Avenue Market, Xenia Avenue, Dayton
- Dec. 7 – Free Pike Drive-Thru, Free Pike, Dayton
- Dec. 8 – Sunoco gas station, Selma Road, Springfield
- Dec. 8 – Family Dollar, Salem Avenue, Trotwood *
- Dec. 10 – Mini Mart, N. Main Street, Dayton
- Dec. 11 – Marathon gas station, E. Fifth Street, Dayton
- Dec. 12 – White Oak Deli, Cheviot Road, Green Township *
- Dec. 14 – Family Dollar, West Main Street, Springfield *
- Dec. 15 – Sammy’s Drive-Thru, Woodman Drive, Riverside
- Dec. 15 – United Dairy Farmers, Vine Street, Cincinnati *

Law enforcement identified a vehicle of interest through the Flock Safety Camera System, linking a 2011 red Ford Taurus to multiple robbery locations.
On Dec. 16, Dayton police officers stopped the vehicle and found Farr in the front passenger seat, allegedly wearing the described outfit.
Officers also recovered an N-95 style mask on the floorboard, gray two-tone gloves in his pocket, and a 9mm pistol in his waistband.
The case was announced by U.S. Attorney Kenneth L. Parker, along with law enforcement leaders from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) and multiple local police departments.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan A. Saunders is prosecuting the case.
An indictment contains only allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
