One person arrested following drug bust in Virginia

VIRGINIA — A wanted man was arrested and a large quantity of firearms and drugs were seized in Lynchburg on Thursday, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.

Officers executed two search warrants as part of an ongoing investigation into 33-year-old Justin Wilson.

Authorities said Wilson, who was wanted on a felony probation violation from 2023, was believed to be in possession of firearms and fentanyl.

Police first searched storage units linked to Wilson, where they found approximately 17 firearms.

A second search at Wilson’s residence led to the discovery of six more firearms and several suspected illegal substances. Wilson was taken into custody at his home without incident.

Wilson was served with his outstanding probation violation, related to two counts of possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance with intent to distribute.

He also faces a new charge of possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Items seized during the searches included:

  • 23 firearms
  • 1,000 rounds of ammunition
  • 4.2 ounces of suspected fentanyl
  • 5 grams of heroin
  • 4 ounces of marijuana

Additional charges are pending. Wilson is currently being held at Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Lynchburg.
