Ohio man arrested following drug bust during traffic stop

DAYTON — A Dayton man was arrested on felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers discovered nearly 100 grams of cocaine during a traffic stop in southern Ohio, a spokesperson from the patrol reported.

Troopers pulled over Davion Black, 29, on State Route 348 in Scioto County around 11 p.m. Sunday for a marked lanes violation.

During the stop, troopers noticed drug residue and a firearm inside the vehicle, prompting a plain view search.

The search led to the discovery of approximately 90 grams of cocaine, valued at around $8,100.

Black was taken into custody and booked at the Scioto County Jail on charges of drug possession and having weapons under disability.

Troopers also identified the firearm as stolen, with a record showing it was entered by the Dayton Police Department.

Additional charges related to the firearm may be filed.

If convicted, Black faces up to 14 years in prison and a possible $30,000 fine.
