AKRON — Akron police are investigating the death of a man found behind a vacant home early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to a call about a possible fight on the 800 block of Oberlin Street around 5:25 a.m., according to a release from the police department.

Upon arrival, residents told officers they had heard sounds of a possible altercation nearby.

While searching the area, police discovered the body of an unidentified adult male inside a tent behind the vacant property.

Police noted the man showed signs of trauma, and investigators consider the circumstances suspicious.

The Summit County Medical Examiner is working to identify the victim.
