OHIO — Curtis Green, 35, of Cleveland, has been sentenced to 36 months in federal prison for using his position as a pharmacy technician to unlawfully obtain and distribute controlled substances.

U.S. District Judge Donald C. Nugent handed down the sentence following Green’s guilty plea to possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute.

According to court records, Green worked as a certified pharmacy technician at a hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.

Between December 30, 2022, and April 9, 2023, he exploited his role to order oxycodone and fentanyl under the hospital’s name but for his personal distribution.

Authorities discovered 103 grams of oxycodone and 77.5 grams of fentanyl mixture in his possession.

Federal agents executed a search warrant at Green’s residence on April 9, 2023, seizing $72,880 in cash.

The following day, an additional $2,025 was confiscated.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Mayfield Heights Police Department. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Margaret A. Sweeney.
