NORTH CAROLINA — A woman is in custody following a domestic dispute that left her boyfriend dead Wednesday night in Robeson County, according to deputies.
The incident occurred at a home on Oxendine Road in Pembroke. Deputies with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Officeresponded to the scene and found 22-year-old Lacota F. Locklear of Pembroke deceased inside the residence.
Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said 28-year-old Joanna M. Deese, also of Pembroke, was taken into custody at the scene. Deese has been charged with first-degree murder and discharging a weapon within an enclosure to incite fear.
Deese is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.
