Two people injured following multi-vehicle crash in Virginia

VIRGINIA — Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer that temporarily shut down multiple lanes of Interstate 295 South in Chesterfield County on Tuesday morning, according to authorities.

Troopers with the Virginia State Police were called to the crash at about 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, on Interstate 295southbound, just south of the Varina-Enon Bridge near mile marker 18 in Chesterfield County.

Police said the crash involved three vehicles, including a tractor-trailer. Two people were transported to a hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.

The left and center lanes of I-295 South were closed for several hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. As of 11:10 a.m., all lanes had reopened and traffic was flowing normally.
