
OHIO — Two juvenile suspects were arrested following a shooting that left two people injured on Christmas Day in Youngstown, according to police.
Police said officers responded to reports of a shooting around 7:45 p.m. in the 300 block of East Florida Avenue. When officers arrived, they found evidence of gunfire, including multiple spent rifle and handgun casings and broken glass in the roadway.
According to a police report, two victims were shot during the incident and were transported to a hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately available.
Investigators later located and detained two juvenile suspects at a residence on Saranac Avenue. Police said a search of the home led to the discovery of a revolver hidden under a mattress in a bedroom and a loaded magazine found between couch cushions.
The report also states that officers found a black Nike bag inside a trash can near a side door of the home. Inside the bag were a broken-down rifle and two magazines.
Both juveniles were arrested and charged with felonious assault. The incident remains under investigation.
