FLORIDA — A man is in critical condition following a reported stabbing early Friday morning in Holly Hill, according to police.
Holly Hill Police Department said emergency responders were dispatched to Ridgewood Avenue at approximately 5:53 a.m. on Dec. 26 after receiving reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found the victim, identified as William McCauley, unconscious.
Police said officers immediately provided life-saving measures until medical personnel arrived. McCauley was then transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
During the investigation at the scene, Andrew Drake was identified as a suspect and detained by police.
Detectives with the Holly Hill Police Department are continuing to investigate the incident and are working in coordination with the State Attorney’s Office and Volusia County Crime Scene Investigations.
According to police, preliminary information suggests the incident may have stemmed from an argument over music, though investigators cautioned that details remain unconfirmed. Officers are continuing to interview those involved to determine the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released.
