
INDIANA — One person was killed and two others were injured Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Nineveh Road in Franklin, according to authorities.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the crash at the intersection of Nineveh Road and County Road 80S at approximately 11:29 a.m. Emergency responders arrived to find three people injured at the scene.
The Franklin Fire Department and Seals Ambulance Service provided medical assistance. The driver of one vehicle was transported to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Two occupants from the second vehicle were taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital, where one of them later died.
The Johnson County Coroner identified the victim as 16-year-old Robert Toole, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved. Authorities did not release information about the conditions of the surviving victims.
Nineveh Road remains closed from U.S. 31 to Windstar as investigators work to determine the cause of the crash. No estimate has been provided for when the roadway will reopen.
