
GEORGIA — Multiple people were arrested following a drug trafficking investigation conducted by the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Officein Statesboro, authorities announced.
The investigation began after deputies received several citizen complaints about suspected drug activity in the area of Van Buren Street and Elm Street. In response, deputies conducted an investigation that led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Van Buren Street on Dec. 18.
According to officials, the search resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, including trafficking-level amounts of methamphetamine. As a result, deputies arrested Rotema Alexander Watson, Frances Howard, and Roshaunda Johnson at the Van Buren Street residence.
Watson faces multiple serious charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and two counts of sale of methamphetamine. Howard was charged with possession of methamphetamine and cocaine. Roshaunda Johnson was charged in connection with the unlawful use of communication facilities.
Following the initial arrests, investigators moved to an apartment on Elm Street. Deputies said Purlay Tashawn Johnson and several others were arrested at that location. Johnson was found in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, according to the sheriff’s office.
Additional suspects arrested from the Elm Street residence include Imonee McClouden, James Campbell, Shamari Harris, and Ryan Thomas. All are facing various drug-related charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
