PENNSYLVANIA — Pennsylvania State Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash Monday night in Perry County.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, troopers were called just after 9 p.m. to the intersection of Narrows Road and Royer Road in Miller Township after receiving a report of a person lying along the roadway.

When troopers arrived, they found the body of a 40-year-old woman. Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released, but investigators said she was from Newport, Pennsylvania.

Investigators determined the woman was struck by a silver or gray vehicle that fled the scene. Police said the vehicle may have front-end and bumper damage as a result of the crash.

State police continue to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information, including home surveillance or dash camera footage from the area around the time of the crash, to contact PSP Newport at 717-567-3110.
