KENTUCKY — A Kentucky man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead inside a home in Owsley County, according to state police.
Troopers with the Kentucky State Police, along with detectives and the Owsley County Coroner, responded Saturday, Dec. 20, to a residence on Left Fork Holly Road in Booneville. Authorities said 51-year-old Crystal Sexton was found dead inside the home.
Investigators said 55-year-old Cloyd Burkhart was arrested in connection with the shooting death. Kentucky State Police said Burkhart is accused of shooting and killing Sexton.
Burkhart has been charged with murder, evidence tampering, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to police.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details were immediately released.
