
GEORGIA — More than 23,000 customers across Georgia are without electricity Friday morning following overnight storms that moved through parts of the state, according to PowerOutage.com.
As of the latest update, 23,034 customers were reported without power out of more than 5.3 million customers tracked statewide. The outages were scattered across several regions, with higher concentrations in north Georgia, metro Atlanta, and parts of central Georgia.
Fannin County reported the highest number of outages with 3,338 customers without power. Fulton County followed with 2,682 outages, while Bibb County reported 2,661 customers affected.
Coweta County saw 1,909 outages, and DeKalb County reported 1,398 customers without service. Additional outages were reported in Candler County with 1,201 customers affected, Bulloch County with 1,036 outages, and Dade County with 561.
The outages occurred after a line of storms moved across Georgia late Thursday night into early Friday morning, bringing strong winds and periods of heavy rain.
Utility crews are working Friday morning to assess damage and restore power. Residents are advised to avoid downed power lines and to report outages to their local utility providers as restoration efforts continue.
