VIRGINIA — Several school systems in southwest Virginia announced schedule changes for Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, as districts responded to weather-related conditions and operational concerns.
Buchanan County Public Schools reported a two-hour delay for all schools, including those in the Grundy area.
In neighboring Scott County, school officials announced that all Scott County Public Schools, including schools in the Gate City area, would be closed for the day.
Parents and guardians were encouraged to monitor official school communications for updates on transportation schedules and after-school activities.
