
OHIO — An 18-year-old man from Lorain is in custody, and police are searching for additional suspects after shots were fired early Thursday morning in Sheffield Lake.
According to Sheffield Lake Police Chief Andrew Kory, Officer Antonio Baez was on patrol near Harris Road at approximately 2 a.m. when he heard multiple gunshots. Officer Baez responded toward the area and observed a vehicle with several occupants behaving suspiciously.
Chief Kory said the driver of the vehicle abruptly pulled into an apartment complex on Lake Breeze Road. Several passengers then fled the vehicle on foot. The driver, identified as Exzavier Carrion, was taken into custody at the scene.
Police said multiple firearms were found and seized from inside the vehicle. Carrion has been charged with several felony offenses, and additional charges are expected to be forwarded to the Sheffield Lake Prosecutor’s Office for review.
