LOUISIANA — One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting Wednesday night in LaPlace, according to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the shooting occurred around 7 p.m. on Cambridge Drive. Emergency responders were called to the scene, where one victim was pronounced dead. Two additional victims were transported for medical treatment for their injuries. Their conditions were not immediately released.
The sheriff’s office said there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
Authorities did not immediately release information about possible suspects or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
The incident remains under investigation.
