OHIO — The Cleveland Division of Police has arrested a 14-year-old boy believed to be connected to a recent series of car break-ins reported across the city, including incidents involving vehicles parked at churches during service hours.
According to a police release, officers have responded to numerous vehicle break-in reports in recent weeks.
Authorities said the incidents disrupted residents’ daily routines and led to increased concern and vigilance throughout the community.
Detectives and uniformed officers coordinated a citywide investigation, reviewing surveillance video, collecting evidence, and interviewing victims and witnesses to identify patterns and potential suspects. Through those efforts, police were able to identify the teenager as a suspect in multiple break-ins.
The arrest occurred Sunday when officers encountered the teen while investigating an unrelated incident. Police said he was found to be in possession of multiple firearms at the time of the arrest.
The juvenile was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center and will face charges through the juvenile court system.
Cleveland police are urging motorists to lock their vehicles, remove valuables, and promptly report suspicious activity. Authorities also encourage residents to share any relevant video footage or information that may assist ongoing investigations.
