Virginia school closings and delays for Monday

VIRGINIA — Several school divisions across Virginia have announced closures, delays, and shifts to virtual learning for Monday, December 15, 2025, as districts adjust schedules due to inclement weather and travel concerns.

A number of school systems will be closed for the day, including Bland County Public Schools, Wythe County Public Schools, and Buchanan County Public Schools. Other districts have opted to move instruction online, with Giles County, Grayson County, and Lee County schools conducting classes through virtual or remote learning inclement weather days.

Many divisions will operate on a two-hour delay Monday morning. These include Craig County Schools, Galax City Schools, Henry County Schools, Highland County Schools, Lynchburg City Schools, Pulaski County Schools, Radford City Schools, Spotsylvania County Public Schools, Loudoun County Public Schools, Waynesboro Public Schools, Bristol, Virginia City Schools, Dickenson County Schools, Norton City Schools, Scott County Schools, and Wise County Schools.

Temple Baptist School will also open two hours late, with modified schedules for students. K3 and K4 classes are canceled, daycare will remain available for families enrolled in monthly care, students in grades 7–12 will begin classes at 10 a.m., and students in kindergarten through sixth grade will start at 10:15 a.m.
