
TEXAS — A narcotics investigation in Zapata County resulted in one arrest and the seizure of a large amount of illegal drugs, authorities said.
According to the Zapata County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, with assistance from special agents, conducted the investigation on Thursday, Dec. 11, in the 1200 block of Bravo Avenue in Zapata.
During the operation, authorities seized 93 individually packaged pieces of crack cocaine along with 22 grams of powdered cocaine.
Investigators arrested 34-year-old Almicar Vargas Jr. He has been charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.
Vargas was transported to the Zapata County Regional Jail, where he was booked and processed. The investigation remains ongoing.
