
OHIO — The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a semi-tractor-trailer that occurred early Saturday morning in Mercer County.
According to authorities, deputies and emergency medical crews were called to U.S. Route 127 just north of Celina, Ohio, at approximately 3:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash.
Investigators said a preliminary investigation determined that 28-year-old Brendan McKinney was walking along U.S. 127 near the middle of the roadway when he was struck by a semi-tractor-trailer traveling southbound. McKinney was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi, who is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, was not injured in the crash.
The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office said the incident remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released at this time.
