FLORIDA — A 40-year-old Bonifay man was critically injured Tuesday night in a crash on Interstate 10 near Mile Marker 93, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Investigators said the crash occurred when traffic began to slow in the area. A vehicle ahead reduced speed, but the Bonifay man, traveling behind it, did not slow down or stop. His vehicle went under the trailer of the vehicle in front of him.
Troopers said the man was trapped in the wreckage for about two hours before rescue crews were able to free him. He was transported for medical treatment with critical injuries.
Portions of I-10 were shut down during the response but have since reopened. The crash remains under investigation.
