LOUISIANA — A head-on collision between a pickup truck and a commercial box truck left one person dead and another seriously injured Wednesday morning in Assumption Parish.
According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash at approximately 6:33 a.m. along Louisiana Highway 70, near Leonie Street and Veteran’s Park. Investigators said a pickup truck and a box truck collided directly with one another on the highway.
The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene. The driver of the box truck was seriously injured and was transported for medical treatment. No additional details on the drivers have been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
