MICHIGAN — A 67-year-old Holland man died Tuesday night after falling off an e-bike and being struck by a vehicle, according to local police.
Police said the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. near the intersection of State Street and 22nd Street.
Witnesses reported that the man, identified as Daniel Eugene Woods, hit a residential trash bin while riding the bike, causing him to fall into the roadway. As he attempted to get back onto the bike, he was struck by a northbound Honda Odyssey.
Emergency crews performed life-saving measures before transporting him to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police said the 34-year-old Holland man driving the Honda was not impaired and was not speeding at the time of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
