TENNESSEE — Students in Johnson County, Tennessee, will begin the school day later than usual on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Johnson County Schools announced that all Mountain City schools and the rest of the county system will operate on a two-hour delay.
The district did not specify the cause in its brief notice, but delayed starts are commonly issued when road or weather conditions require additional time for buses and families to travel safely.
A two-hour delay means morning pickup times, school opening times, and breakfast schedules will begin two hours later than normal.
Families are encouraged to allow extra time for morning travel and to check for any further updates should conditions change overnight. The school system noted that regular dismissal times are expected unless additional announcements are made on Wednesday.
