ILLINOIS — A semi-truck driver died in a fiery crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 74, according to the Illinois State Police.
Troopers say the crash involved only the tractor-trailer, which veered off the highway, hit a tree, and caught fire. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Westbound traffic remains reduced to one lane as crews continue to investigate and clear the wreckage.
The driver’s identity has not yet been released.
