GEORGIA — An inmate at the Coffee County Jail died Monday after being found unresponsive, according to a statement released by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.

Officials say the inmate received medical treatment after being discovered inside the facility and was transported to Coffee Regional Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead. The sheriff’s office described the situation as an isolated incident.

Authorities have not released the inmate’s name or any details surrounding the cause of death. Family members have been notified.
