OHIO — Two Ohio men are behind bars after Parkersburg Police say they were caught transporting drugs into West Virginia for distribution.

According to the Parkersburg Police Department, 19-year-old Gibraun Gooden and 22-year-old Jamier Gooden, both from Akron, were arrested Friday and charged with transporting controlled substances into the state and possession with intent to distribute.

Police said the arrests followed a traffic stop along Route 95 in Parkersburg when a K-9 officer alerted to illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.

A roadside search uncovered approximately 100 grams of suspected heroin and fentanyl, 18 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 12 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and a small amount of marijuana, along with items commonly used for packaging drugs.

The Goodens were taken to the North Central Regional Jail, where they are being held on $200,000 bonds as they await court proceedings. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
