FLORIDA — Nearly 300 residents in an Orlando neighborhood lost electricity early Sunday morning after a car crashed into a power pole, according to Duke Energy.

The outage occurred around 4:15 a.m. along Lee Road near Adanson Street. Crews were dispatched to repair the damage and restore service.

By 7:30 a.m., only 20 customers were still without power, Duke Energy reported. The utility said it expects all affected customers to have service restored by 10:30 a.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the outage was caused when the driver of a 2022 Toyota Corolla failed to negotiate a curve and struck the pole. No further details about the driver or injuries have been released.
