NORTH CAROLINA — Two suspects are facing charges after deputies discovered dozens of stolen packages during a traffic stop in Davie County, according to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they pulled over a heavily damaged minivan on Liberty Church Road on Dec. 4. Inside the vehicle, deputies noticed multiple packages, and the driver, Alvin Holland, claimed he worked for a Charlotte-based delivery company.
A search of the minivan revealed dozens of packages — some already opened — along with methamphetamine pills, a loaded gun and an open beer, officials said.
Holland and his passenger, Janie Shore, 48, were taken into custody. Holland was charged with driving while license revoked, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container and possession of a firearm by a felon. Shore was charged with open container and firearm by a felon.
Deputies said they are working to identify all of the packages and their rightful owners. Most of the recovered items appear to be addressed to residents in Davie County.
