KENTUCKY — A routine traffic stop conducted by the Georgetown Police Department on Monday resulted in a significant drug bust, according to officials.

Police said officers observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Interstate 75 on Dec. 1 and noticed multiple traffic violations. When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, both the driver and passenger allegedly tried to flee.

During the brief pursuit, officers reported seeing the occupants toss “quantities of suspected narcotics” out of the vehicle’s window. The vehicle eventually came to a stop, and both individuals were taken into custody without further incident.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a pill press, suspected cocaine, approximately $10,300 in cash, and various drug paraphernalia, police said.

The identities of the driver and passenger have not yet been released as the investigation continues.
