ALABAMA — A Huntsville woman faces several charges after police say a shoplifting investigation led to the discovery of illegal drugs.

Huntsville Police reported that officers were called to a business on the 1000 block of Memorial Parkway after employees said individuals entered the store, concealed merchandise, and left without paying. The store provided the tag number of the vehicle that left the scene.

Using license plate reader cameras, officers tracked the vehicle to a nearby motel, where they located the suspect. Police identified her as 41-year-old Jessica Kelly Bracken of Huntsville.

During the arrest, officers recovered the stolen merchandise along with fentanyl, methamphetamine, alprazolam, and a THC edible.

Bracken was charged with organized retail theft, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and three additional counts of possession of a controlled substance. She was booked into the Madison County Jail.
