NORTH CAROLINA — Students at Carroll Middle School in Raleigh began classes later than usual on Tuesday after a power outage left the campus without electricity and temporarily closed the building.
The outage delayed the start of school by about an hour.
Administrators advised students not to come onto campus or remain in carpool lines until power was restored.
According to a notice posted on the school’s website, electricity returned just before 8:30 a.m. A Duke Energy outage map showed that roughly 1,000 customers in the area were without power at the time.
