OHIO — One person was killed and two others were injured in a four-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in southern Ohio, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened just before 12:45 p.m. on Ohio Route 7 near mile marker 30. Troopers said a southbound truck crossed left of center and struck another vehicle. That vehicle then ran off the right side of the road and hit a guardrail.
The truck continued across the roadway, hitting a sign and a wooden fence. Debris from the initial collision then struck two more vehicles, causing both to veer off the road, investigators said.
Troopers identified the truck’s driver as 75-year-old Dennis Allen of Ravenna. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A 73-year-old female passenger in the truck was taken to Holzer Emergency Medical Center. The 60-year-old driver of the vehicle first hit by the truck was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
