INDIANA — The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left two men dead Friday night in Kankakee Township.
Authorities responded around 9 p.m. to the intersection of State Road 2 and County Road 500 East, where they found both drivers deceased.
According to investigators, a truck driven by 42-year-old Matthew J. Turner of Crawfordville, Florida, was traveling east in the westbound lane of State Road 2 when it collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Michael S. Munroe of Lansing, Illinois.
Turner and Munroe were both pronounced dead at the scene. Members of the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team and the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division responded to assist with the investigation.
Toxicology results for both drivers are pending.
