INDIANA — A routine traffic stop in Wayne County on Wednesday afternoon led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, according to the Richmond Police Department.
A Wayne County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle near South 5th Street and P Street after noticing suspicious behavior. The deputy requested assistance from Richmond Police Officer Nordman and K9 Baas.
Police said K9 Baas alerted to the possible presence of narcotics, prompting a search of the vehicle. Officers found approximately 43 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
“When deputies and officers trust their training and lean on each other, the community gets real results,” Richmond Police Chief Kyle Weatherly said.
