
GEORGIA — A drug-related police operation at a shopping center on Indian Trail Lilburn Road resulted in seven arrests Thursday night, according to Gwinnett County police.
Witnesses said officers swarmed the strip mall around 8 p.m., with blue lights filling the parking lot as police moved in and out of businesses, including the Quick Mart.
Bystanders recorded video showing investigators entering and exiting the store with evidence bags. Police remained at the scene for several hours near Dickens Road.
On Friday, authorities confirmed that seven people were taken into custody. One of those arrested, 20-year-old Jimmy Mendoza Orellana, was charged with felony possession of THC cannabis, according to an arrest warrant. The identities of the other six individuals have not yet been released.
Police did not disclose how many drugs were recovered during the operation.
Officials emphasized that the incident was solely related to drug enforcement and was not connected to Immigration and Customs Enforcement or any immigration-related investigation.
