SOUTH CAROLINA — A 24-year-old Ridgeland man is facing numerous drug and weapons charges after barricading himself inside a home during an hours-long standoff Friday morning.
According to the Hardeeville Police Department, Matthew Kyliel Bolden Jr. was taken into custody on Orange Grove Road after authorities arrived to execute a search warrant connected to ongoing gun and theft investigations.
The warrant was served around 6:30 a.m. by officers from the Hardeeville Police Department, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Police said the operation is part of a broader investigation into a felon-in-possession-of-firearms case and a series of motor vehicle break-ins reported in the Argent Boulevard area of Hardeeville. The agencies also noted that a previous search of the same residence in October resulted in the seizure of trafficking-level quantities of illegal drugs, narcotics and stolen property.
Bolden is charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, five counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and hindering an officer. Authorities did not immediately release further details.
