OHIO — Four people, including two children, were shot and killed Wednesday evening in what police say was a murder-suicide at a home in Tiffin.
According to the Tiffin Police Department, officers responded to the residence at 6:24 p.m. after receiving reports of gunshots and screaming. When officers entered the home, they found four people inside.
Police Chief David Pauly said two children and a man had been shot, while a woman at the scene was “in a state of shock, overwhelmed, and visibly traumatized.” The man and one of the children were pronounced dead at the scene. Officers attempted life-saving measures on the second child, and medics transported the boy to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Outside the home, officers discovered another man dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Chief Pauly said the department is investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called in to process the scene. Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims, pending notification of family members.
The investigation remains ongoing.
