NORTH CAROLINA — A routine traffic stop in Brunswick County Monday night resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and multiple arrests, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputy Smith observed a vehicle run a stop sign on Holden Beach Road, nearly causing a collision. The driver, identified as 57-year-old Timothy Roberson of Georgia, became non-compliant and attempted to flee on foot. Despite repeated commands, Roberson ran toward a heavily wooded area.
K9 Oti was deployed and apprehended Roberson before he could enter the woods. A subsequent search of the vehicle and Roberson revealed methamphetamine, oxycodone, drug paraphernalia, an open container of alcohol, a concealed firearm, and approximately 205 grams of meth packaged for distribution.
Roberson was booked into the Brunswick County Detention Center and faces multiple charges, including carrying a concealed firearm, resisting a public officer, two counts of open container alcohol, failure to yield, possession of a firearm by a felon, and trafficking in methamphetamine.
