SOUTH CAROLINA — A series of citizen complaints helped lead to multiple arrests in a drug investigation near Hanna Loop in the Knox Swamp area of Georgetown County, authorities said.
According to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, the Narcotics and Vice Unit conducted a traffic stop on Monday as part of the ongoing investigation.
Deputies reported that the driver, Maniel Dorsey, attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody. A large quantity of suspected fentanyl and a handgun were found on Dorsey, officials said.
Deputies said two other occupants of the vehicle, Kimberly Moore and Kevin Palmer, were found with suspected cocaine. They added that Palmer also had active family court warrants in Georgetown County.
Following the traffic stop, deputies from the Narcotics and Vice Unit and the Patrol Division executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Hanna Loop. The sheriff’s office said the operation resulted in a total of six arrests connected to the investigation.
The case remains under review.
