OHIO — A 17-year-old girl was killed and four others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening in Union County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers were dispatched around 7:24 p.m. to Hyland Croy Road near Johnston Drive following reports of a collision.

Investigators said a northbound Kia Forte, driven by 17-year-old Claudia Phan of Dublin, crossed the center line and struck a southbound Ford Explorer driven by 37-year-old Jason Lyle of Lewis Center.

Both vehicles veered off the right side of the road after the impact. Phan suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lyle was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital with serious injuries. His front-seat passenger, 34-year-old Ashley Lyle, was also transported to Riverside Methodist with minor injuries. Two juvenile passengers in the Explorer were taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, also with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
