OHIO — A Belpre man is facing multiple drug charges after an investigation led to the seizure of more than six pounds of suspected methamphetamine, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives arrested Cleveland Bedgood on Nov. 12 in Belpre. He is charged with possession of drugs, trafficking in drugs, and tampering with evidence.

The sheriff’s office said the arrest followed an extensive investigation conducted jointly by the Washington County Detective Bureau and the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force.

On Nov. 13 and 14, the task force executed two search warrants at Wood County residences believed to be used by Bedgood. Agents located more than six pounds of suspected methamphetamine during the searches.

The sheriff’s office said additional charges are expected. Bedgood remains in the Washington County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
