SOUTH CAROLINA — A 16-year-old Walhalla boy died Friday afternoon following a motorcycle crash near Stumphouse Tunnel Road, according to the Oconee County Coroner’s Office.
The crash occurred around 3 p.m. near the entrance to the popular scenic area. The coroner identified the victim as Tanner Hopkins of Walhalla, a student at Walhalla High School.
South Carolina Highway Patrol investigators have not yet released additional details about how the collision occurred.
The crash remains under investigation.
