NORTH CAROLINA — An 18-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a car in north Durham on Thursday evening, according to Durham police.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 6:40 p.m. when Iazias Davis attempted to cross Guess Road and was hit by a southbound Honda Accord traveling in the right-hand lane. Davis was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police said a juvenile passenger in the Accord was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Officials did not release information about the driver, and no charges are expected at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
