SOUTH CAROLINA — A Bowman man was arrested Thursday on drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in Summerville, authorities said.
David Myers, 50, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, between 28 and 100 grams, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office C.O.P.E. Team said they observed a vehicle on Strathmore Road near Jedburg Road being operated without headlights and with a defective brake light. During the traffic stop, Myers and his passenger reportedly admitted they did not have valid driver’s licenses.
Deputies said Myers’ behavior during questioning prompted them to call a K9 unit. The dog alerted to the vehicle, leading to a probable cause search that uncovered approximately 28.58 grams of methamphetamine.
Myers was booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center, and the investigation is ongoing.
