VIRGINIA — Someone in Pulaski County is holding a $1 million Powerball ticket after matching all but one number in Wednesday night’s drawing, according to the Virginia Lottery.
The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located in the 4600 block of Cleburne Boulevard in Dublin.
The winning numbers for the November 12 drawing were 29-39-43-51-65, with the Powerball number 23. The ticket matched the first five numbers but missed the Powerball, earning a $1 million prize.
Lottery officials said the Dublin ticket was the only one in Virginia and one of just two nationwide to match the first five numbers. No ticket matched all six numbers to win the $512 million jackpot, which now grows to an estimated $546 million for Saturday’s drawing.
The 7-Eleven that sold the winning ticket will receive a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery.
The winner has 180 days from the drawing date to claim the prize and is advised to sign the back of the ticket immediately to secure ownership before contacting the Virginia Lottery office.
All Virginia Lottery profits go to support K-12 education. Last fiscal year, Pulaski County received more than $4.5 million in lottery funds, contributing to the $901 million raised statewide for public education—about 10% of Virginia’s K-12 budget.
Powerball drawings take place at 10:59 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, while the odds of winning any Powerball prize are 1 in 25.
