PENNSYLVANIA — One person was killed and four others were injured in a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning on Route 22 in Westmoreland County.
The crash occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes near Buena Vista Drive, according to emergency responders.
Authorities said the driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene. Four other people were taken to Forbes Hospital Trauma Center for treatment.
The identities of those involved have not yet been released. Traffic in the area was restricted for several hours while emergency crews responded and cleared the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
